Abdul Hamid (politician):

Abdul Hamid (Bengali: আব্দুল হামিদ; born 1 January 1944) is the 16th  and current President of Bangladesh. Prior to this position, he served as the Speaker of the National Parliament from January 2009 to April 2013.


 He was the acting President after the death ofZillur Rahman in March 2013. Hamid took oath as president on April 22, 2013.

Zillur Rahman:

Mohammed Zillur Rahman (Bengali: মোঃ জিল্লুর রহমান; 9 March 1929 – 20 March 2013) was the 15th President of Bangladesh from 2009 to 2013. He was also a senior presidium member of the Awami League. In 2009, Rahman was elected to the presidency by parliament in an uncontested vote; the Awami League had won the vast majority of seats in the 2008 parliamentary election. 

He is the third president of Bangladesh, after Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Ziaur Rahman, to die in office, while being the first to die of natural causes.
